Battling Child Obesity: Tesco ban Ribena, Capri Sun & more
Well this is certainly a bold move TESCO! In an attempt to help battle child obesity, Tesco, the Eurasian supermarket giant, have decided to ban Ribena, Capri Sun, Rubicon & more sugary drinks popular among children. Social media have risen in uproar as many choose Tesco over their competitors for shopping preference, and are now left in a major crisis. These drinks in particular were chosen because they have extra added sugar in, although it is interesting that Coke is still on shelves as it is the highest of all. Probably the most popular too.

Well, some contribution is better than none at least, as the barred beverages will be replaced by Tesco’s own low sugar value range from September onwards. They are also clamping down on the sugar in their own range too, such as cordials, juices and fizzy drinks. The companies out there that promote healthy eating, natural ingredients (sugars/sweeteners) are giving the company a round of applause for their leap of faith, although regular consumer & Ribena lovers everywhere are up in arms in utter disgust.
