UK R&B singer Fabian Secon has been making waves since the release of his debut track ‘The Unknown’ that fused a dark trap sound whilst showcasing his natural lyrical ability. With features in the pipeline with the likes of Isaiah Dreads and Preditah, Fabian is certainly becoming one to look out for. This week, his latest track ‘Goldplated’ has been given a remix treatment by producer Splurgeboys featuring grime veteran Scorcher and Rocket.
The 18 year-old started out making music as a freestyle rapper like many other young guys his age but found the siding side of things came more naturally. At a young age Fabian bopped frequently back and forth between London and New York, a move that aided his style and approach to the music. Despite early influences of Dancehall and Bashment through his West Indian mother’s side and Golden-Era hip-hop on his father’s, Fabian’s style remains thoroughly R&B.
When speaking on the ‘Goldplate’ remix Fabian states, “I didn’t actually know Scorcher had jumped on it until I came to Tee’s (Splurgeboys) house and he played it as a surprise and said Scorcher had heard it, loved it and then [spat] 16 deep bars to it on the spot! Rocket from Splurgeboys then jumped on it, so it came together naturally.”
