In recent months, Kano has been featured on a number of big tracks, supporting younger artists and lending a helping hand in their development, from Little Simz [‘Dead Body 2+3’] and Chip [‘Feeling Myself’], as well as taking part in the AR15 project on a track entitled ‘Can’t See Me Again‘ alongside Skepta and Bashy. Kano also made history by becoming the first recipient of the GRM Legacy award at this years Get Rated Awards for his contribution to the UK scene.
This week saw a new solo release from the East London veteran, ‘Garage Skank’, and the track has an old school garage feel. The track is a Zeph Ellis (aka Dot Rotten)’s production entitled ‘XCXD BXMB‘, which was featured on Logan Sama‘s Fabriclive release and has already seen a track from up and coming grime artist AJ Tracey. The video is a mash up of both Kano, friends and fans lip-synching his bars [think Nickelback ‘Rockstar‘], from South Korea, Australia, Amsterdam and beyond. There are also cameos from the likes of Lethal Bizzle, Yasmin Evans, Bushkin, Buck & Logan Sama in the video as well.
You can still purchase tickets for Kano’s forthcoming Manchester gig here.
