“Come against Calais and the Pharoahs, you must be having a bubble like Aero’s”
South London collective Sin For Calaisare focused on creating their own sound, scene and culture, with influences from R&B, trap, hip hop and dancehall all shining through their music. The 6 piece group is made up of rappers, producers and artists Lash Vanegro, Casvanasché, Tokyo, Jay Calais, Corinthian Sin and Yems Calais. The group are a band of brothers dedicated to the arts and work collaboratively to do so; “We’re not specifically all musicians, but we do influence each other’s work”.
The group have gone from strength to strength over the past 12 months, from their sold out gig in Brixton earlier this year [“We walked on stage squadded, everyone made a little walkway for us”] to the release of their video ‘Tell Me‘ which has gained support online from the likes of Wonderland Magazine. While their popular Tumblr account gives you an insight into their lifestyles, their Soundcloud has a number of tracks which feature the group going over a number of eclectic beats and have been consistently stacking up the views. Their latest release sees them team up with fellow London collective House of Pharoahsfor ‘Homemade’, a back to back number produced by Casvanasché & Tokyo and featuring members from both camps dropping their finest verses.
