Since utilising the platform given to him by Kurupt FM and 1Xtra on #SixtyMinutesLive back in September last year, Craig David went on the perform at Notting Hill Carnival alongside Sean Paul, Ms Dynamite, Redlight and MistaJam at Shy FX’s party, and he even made an appearance at this years’s Bestival, embracing and celebrating his former roots as the poster boy of UK garage and R&B. His recent return also saw him perform alongside Fuse ODGsupporting X Factor finalistsReggie N Bollie. which provided Craig David with a new, 2015 audience in which he could showcase new music and did so, spitting a verse over Stormzy’s ‘Shut Up‘ via Capital Xtra and teaming up with Big Narstie on ‘When The Bassline Drops‘.
Now it seems that the Ravers Edition wasn’t the final visuals from one of the most ground-breaking releases of 2015. Craig David and Big Narstie originally released a video of the single ‘When The Bassline Drops‘ via a live performance but today the duo dropped the official video. Maybe it’s because of the result of the fact the song has now entered the UK Top 40 and is only rising.
With plans to drop his next album, Following My Intuition in 2016, it seems we have a lot more of Craig David to look forward to and will inspire more collaborations across-genres.If Twitter tells the truth there was contact between Craig David and Bonkaz regarding a potential joint effort, fingers crossed. In addition, a collab of such magnitude could not only help the grime scene in terms of popularity, Craig David’s inclusion could help to eradicate the typical, incorrect stereotypes around the genre.
