Faceless producer duo Opal Blue have shared their first offering of 2016, following on from the delectably moody ‘Way Down‘ at the latter end of last year. Defining themselves with underwater imagery, Opal Blue are sure to haunt you in the best way possible. Having been compared to the likes of The XX and Majid Jordan, the duo are moving firmly into the realms of taste-maker talent. The new track entitled ‘Time Travel‘, is a song that speaks volumes of talent and further promotes their use of the sounds of the London underground and tube; distorted into something ethereal and other-wordly.
The track manages to unveil the two’s minimal style and more sizable potential, and, although this is not the first time we’ve been introduced to similar production, distinct elements leave room for originality here. Lyrically, the song takes it’s listeners on a journey after a break-up; and portrays the story of the “long way home”. Hauntingly beautiful, Opal Blue’s tracks have been acknowledged across the board, earning them the top spot on Hype Machine, as well as earning a chance to remix Femme’s sensational single ‘SOS‘, officially. ‘Time Travel‘ is taken from the forthcoming She Goes Deep EP, and was premiered via Okay Player. She Goes Deep is set for a February release on Oatmilk Industries.
