Dublin boys Hare Squead [pronounced Hair Skwed] have found a way to channel an eclectic love affair with music into an infectious and dominating pop sound, along with an explosive live show. Musicians from a young age, Tony Konstone, Jessy Rose and E-Knock came together through a love of skating, song-writing, flexing, and bonhomie. Their shared central African heritage combined with a mutual love for skating, music and chicken fillet rolls has cemented them as firm friends and an inseparable unit. Influenced by everything from Rage Against The Machine and Feist to funk, classic jazz and contemporary R&B, they have developed a sound that is uniquely their own.
Accomplished musicians, Hare Squead not only write and produce their songs, they also play everything themselves. Having just signed to Columbia Records UK, they have dropped the video for new track ‘If I Ask‘. The track portrays the trio in typical energetic-form, and is a fantastic indicator of their propensity for sharp lyrics and tight arrangements. The accompanying video, which you can watch below, is simple and uncompromising – letting the music do the talking. 2016 is surely the year of the Hare Squead.
