Sevyn Streeter Returns with “Prolly” Visuals // Album Announcement
After almost a year hiatus US R&B songbird Sevyn Streeter returns with a video and song premiere in the form of ‘Prolly‘. Atlanta’s finest Gucci Mane joins the singer/songwriter for some fun as Sevyn revels in letting loose and giving 0 F’s as she does exactly what she wants to. “Did I go too far tonight? I don’t know, prolly // Did I almost start a fight? I don’t know, prolly.” sings Sevyn across the chorus.
The Charlie Heat produced cut follows her 2015 EP Shoulda Been There Part 1 and was originally planned to serve as a cut which would feature on On The Verge a project which was due to drop imminently. After recent changes behind the scenes ‘Prolly‘ is now placed as the first single for a newly titled debut album dubbed Girl Interrupted which is hotly slated for fall and features production credits from Bangladesh and The Dream alongside collaborations with Dej Loaf, Ty Dolla $ign and Gucci Mane.
The visual is loud, distorted and energised as ever, as Sevyn toys with armed men in a Mad Max inspired, Mike Ho directed fantasy land. Holograms also fill the screen making the video dark and gritty.
Sevyn spoke to FADER recently on what’s to be expected on Girl Interrupted:
“The theme of this album comes from me taking accountability and responsibilities for the mistakes and successes in my life…My choices. Me along the journey, learning lessons about the decisions I’ve made.”
