Conducta Returns With ‘Still You’

Conducta has been making huge waves over the last few years as his worth begins to take shape. At a ripe age of 22, the producer has gained attention across the pond for his nostalgic, rustic vibe and his effortlessly Garage numbers which routinely gain hundreds of thousands of SoundCloud streams. Further cementing his street-cred are shoutouts by the likes of Soulection‘s Lakim and OWSLA, and regular exclusive plays on BBC‘s 1Xtra. Following a sold-out performance in London last week Conducta returns with his fresh  collaborative effort titled ‘Still You‘. Does it continue the hype?

A mix of Future-wave Bounce and Garage is heard in the first few seconds of ‘Still You‘, both laid back but funky the production instantly invites the listener into the party, which almost instantaneously begins in the form of Lifford‘s vocals. Glazed over the backing perfectly Lifford‘s tone is a quick fit, its deep but quirky and as he urges his interest to let him in, the production remains in tact.

Once the chorus hits however, the listener is given a treat as more of the Garage elements of the backing begin to take shape and the old school Garage classic’s spring to mind. However, Conducta‘s production is still littered with a huge dose of originality which makes him distinctive and talented in his own right.

Lifford takes the wheel once more and the calmer element of the sound-wave is back. In verse two the singer is in a calmer mood and talks about feelings and taking things seriously as opposed to acting hysterical. He uses his harmonies well also to add another layer to the track just before the bridge. Again, it must be noted that this beat was made for Lifford a symbiotic relationship between himself and the production is established at this point in the song, something about the pairing works amazingly well.

Just before we fall too far in love with ‘Still You‘, it reaches it’s abrupt but somewhat soothing ending. ‘Still You‘ has all the components for Autumn. A moody gloom in the production but fragmented in a sense of fearlessness that engages the listener and ignites a sense of enjoyment throughout.
