After being a featured artist on projects by Mick Jenkins [‘Healer‘], Smino [‘Lemon Pon Goose‘] and Saba [‘Escape‘], Jean Deaux finally returns with a new track and it’s fantastic. Her voice is soft and smokey with depth that separates her from her counterparts, on top of the fact that when she does decide to rap, her wordplay is nothing short of witty. She’s now shared a new single entitled “Pressure”, a futuristic R&B-house escapade.
Produced by frequent collaborator Tim Suby, the upbeat track showcases her artistry in a boisterous light, whilst still maintaining her unique perspective which fans have taken a warmth to. She notes there are too many outside influences “driving me bananas,” but she uses uptempo nature of the production and the presence of a companion to help calm her mind.Brewing sultry vibes and raw lyricism, the Chicago singer seems to have plenty more up her sleeves, so keep an eye out for her! Last year she released her EP Outer Body, which was entirely produced by Thempeople.
