Rejjie Snow knows that for some a truly horrifying Halloween wouldn’t need ghosts or ghouls, it would simply involve having to pay a trip to the dentist. The U.S.-via-Ireland rapper has dropped the visuals for his latest single ‘Pink Beetle‘, which premiered as Annie Mac‘s ‘Hottest Record In The World‘ on her BBC Radio 1 show earlier this month, and it’s a horror story for those of us who dread their annual check-up.
Speaking about the ‘Pink Beetle‘ video in a press release, Snow says, “I wanted to translate the hyperreal imagery that one envisions when thinking about going to the dentist. For some, going to the dentist is a treacherous nightmare in which pain & fear can strike over you. This video was born from a conversation I had with a man who hadn’t gone to the dentist in 20 years. Because he was simply afraid.”
With Rejjie Snow’s debut LP, Dear Annie, expected to drop some time next year, and rumours of a possible mixtape before then, the Max Weiland-directed video couldn’t come at a better time. Rejjie is also set to tour the UK and Ireland in spring 2017. The MC will head out in mid April with stops planned in Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Leeds, Brighton and London, where he’ll play the O2 Forum, winding up with a homecoming performance at the Academy on April 29.
