Having been on a run this year, Bronx native, Tish Hyman has been nothing short of stellar. This week, the crooner follows up her Ty Dolla $ign and Fabolous-assisted ‘Dreams‘ with the visuals to ‘All That I Can Do‘. Here, in the black-and-white visuals, Hyman sits before an ambulance, a street fight and a woman in labor as she bellows out lyrics about everyday struggles such as beatings, evictions, pregnancies, suicide, and health problems, among other ills.
Tish tells her journey – before moving to Los Angeles and signing a deal with Jill Scott‘s independent label, Blues Babe Records, the Bronx native witnessed and endured a lot of pain and strife growing up in New York City. Those strifes became her muse when penning the single, where she revealed much of her back story. Keepin’ on despite the odds has landed Hyman many opportunities to lend her talent as a songwriter to people like Kelly Rowland, Alicia Keys, Ty Dolla $ign and Fabolous.
In an email to The FADER, Hyman explained that the song and video describe where she is in her life right now. “‘All That I Can Do’ is the current state I am in,” she said. “I’m trying to move ahead without being distracted by everything going on in life.”
The Blue Babes Records artist is currently touring with Lil’ Wayne and has previously joined others on tour like, The Roots, Yuna, BJ the Chicago Kid and her label owner, Scott. ‘All That I Can Do‘ comes from Hyman’s latest EP, Dedicated To.
