After the release of Vibes & Tribulations EP at the start of September, Piers James shares his latest visuals for new track for ‘Wu Tang Forever’. Directed by himself and Reece Selvadoori, Grade A Production. The track alone has a real essence of the golden age rap with hard knocking Boom-Bap drums, dark entrancing synths and cleverly blunt word play that even perhaps ‘Wu Tang Clan’ themselves would proud of. With that being said the video seamlessly coincides with the raw feel of the track, using a mix of drone & camera shots of the derelict to create cinematic feel to the visual.
What’s also interesting about this, is it has moments where you could envision the visuals to be a Video Game with titles ‘Press Play to Start’ and ‘Loading’ screens within certain parts of the Video, suggesting that the viewer or rappers could be considered as the challengers and Piers’ as a final Boss. The single ‘Wu Tang Forever‘ is telling in its own right as to the man’s stance on the modern music scene, which is likely the reason why Piers ended up opening for Ghostface Killah at London’s Royal Festival Hall recently.
