Following being nominated on the BBC Sound of 2017 longlist, a video with Jeremih and Krept & Konan, and an impressive ‘Timmy Turner remix with RAYE earlier this week, Stefflon Don returns to close the year with a debut mixtape. Real Ting sees the genre-hopping MC deliver a rough-and-smooth mix of hip-hop and dancehall. The project opens with a skit in which various people are freaking out that “the don is coming.” London-based rapper Don then takes over and says “Follow my lead, tell the world that you’d die for me.”

Switching between the London slang and patios twang that she grew up around, The Don puts a unique spin on UK rap and it meshes together rather beautifully. Boasting production from Rhymez and joined by the likes of Donae’o, Abra Cadabra, Dutch, Tremz and Fiona Bevan across 11 new tracks, Stefflon really showcase her skills ahead of what’s set to be a big 2017 with her being tipped as an artist to look out for.
