After letting loose on the release date of his fourth album, I Decided [Feb 3rd], Big Sean has been revving up his engine in hopes of having a monstrous 2017. To get things rolling, Sean unleashes his brand new video, ‘Moves‘. If you are looking for the first great viral music video of the year, then look no further. Arriving like the more theatrical cousin of Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling‘.
In this trippy visual, Sean effortlessly glides on the 808 Mafia beat with steely bars. “It’s that n—a that you probably least expected / I just had a couple dots that need connecting / Now your top 5 getting redirected / From here on out it’ll be consecutive / We making moves like Tarantino, like J.J. Abrams /Moving like Channing Tatum / Moving like Jason Statham.”
The video sees Big Sean dancing his way through minimal, multi-colored backdrops. He is then joined by a troupe of scantily-clad women who proceed to array themselves in the kind of large-scale choreography usually found in the glitzy Technicolor musicals of Old Hollywood numbers. ‘Moves‘ is the latest video from Big Sean, who has also recently shared a colorful accompaniment to surprise new single ‘Bounce Back‘ and a new track with Chance the Rapper and Jeremih, ‘Living Single‘.
