Ella Mai Takes A Trip With New Visuals

Before she hits the road next month with Kehlani for the SweetSexySavage Tour, DJ Mustard protégé , London-born songstress Ella Mai, decides to come through today and share a new video for her song ‘Lay Up‘, which is found off her latest Change EP [released in November (2016) via Mustard’s 10 Summers imprint]. From kicking it poolside & soaking up some rays to eating dinner & chilling, Ellie Mai & her man enjoy life together in this warm, follow up to her ‘10,000 Hours‘ video.

No rules, no plans, this is all for us / Put your phone down boy, time to chill / Cause I want you to, work up on this, turn up on this,” Ella sings. Executive produced in its entirety by her mentor, DJ Mustard, the project is a heartfelt throwback to ’90s R&B. “I’m a big fan of music from that era,” admits the half Jamaican-half Irish singer, now officially signed to Mustard’s 10 Summers label. This is the first official release on the 10 Summers and Interscope label partnership.

A thematic continuation of her previously released EP, Time, which chronicles the slow demise of a love relationship, Ella Mai says the new project is all about “new found love, new emotions, and new experiences.” She offers, “It’s about finding someone new and knowing how to appreciate what he’s giving you in comparison to what you were dealing with.

Her Change EP is available now on iTunes.
