Darren Bent gives back with the DB ACADEMY

English footballer Darren Bent is here to change the narrative, with many athletes in this business slated and criticized for a huge list of reasons. Aside from the scandals, the showboating and the controversial amount of money that footballers often have, it’s good to see some giving back to the community. Currently playing for Derby County F.C in the EFL Championship, he tops off a decent season so far with this impressive, local operation. It’s likely many others are also involved, even if his name is the focus here. For both boys and girls, the facility will offer coaching and guidance from qualified individuals. No matter their ability, it’s simply a place that kids and young teens can go to train, learn and have fun in a non-pressured environment.

“A Dream is a Goal we help you to Score”

A tiny fee of £3.50 is posed, presumably to contribute towards the running and maintenance of the place. From 5-14 year olds (split up into smaller age brackets), you can nurture your talent and love for football at the indoor academy now. The opening and launch was on February 2nd  (just yesterday), so you haven’t missed too much if you weren’t aware of its existence. However, they are currently offering spaces for half-term school holidays now. Visit their official site here for more and be sure to follow them on Twitter & Facebook too.
