TDE’s SiR drops new ‘Her Too’ EP
New TDE signee, SiR, recently dropped his “Her Too” project, standing as a certified follow-up to his similarly titled previous EP. He gained a lot of fans and acclaim after dropping “Her” at the end of last year and now he aims to build that rapport with his fans on this sequential tape. Also aiming to bring in new listeners too of course, the 6-track culmination of songs truly demonstrates why he belongs at the forefront of the soulful RnB sub-genre. And RnB in general, which has become slightly blurred due to the modern, radio defining of the genre. But true RnB lies with people like SiR, who at the same time offers a unique and standout sound.
Delving into the project, we see a very strong opener with “New LA“, featuring fellow genre leader and frequent collaborator, Anderson .Paak and Southern-born rapper King Mez. Both artists truly add to the intro, setting an impressive tone from the get-go. Track 2 is a standout for us and might be one of the more popular songs off of the tape, with “The Canvas“. “Don‘t Call My Phone” serves as a funky interlude of sorts, leading you straight into the already released, Masego-assisted “Ooh Nah Nah“. The two remaining songs solidify a fantastic overall performance, with “SUGAR” picking up the vibe where “The Canvas” left off. “W$ Boi” is the perfect outro and wraps up what SiR is all about, showing the other side to his often love-oriented content.
