Following the October release of F*ck Fame, which peaked at #4 on the iTunes Hip Hop Charts and received an amazing amount of support and praise, Bonkaz the New Gen pioneer is back with another solid project to display both his work ethic and his formidable rap and songwriting talents. This week sees the release of Quality Control 2.0, the sequel to the 2011 release of Quality Control.
“This was the right time to release it” said Bonkaz when answering why now? After putting out a number of projects, from Mixtape Of The Year [which featured his friend Stormzy on the favourite ‘And Dat‘] to the acclaimed and heartfelt Forgive Me When I’m Famous. Upon release at midnight, the project instantly started to trend on twitter clearly demonstrating his reactive fan base and their hunger for new music by Bonkaz.
The musical driven rap and RnB project saw Bonkaz collaborating with really talented artists all bringing their A-game, including feature artist of the year Ghetts, vocal performers Mark Asari and Loick Essien, alongside go to writer J Warner, new comer 18-year-old Paige Lihya and upcoming artist Brandz. The project kicked off with the SLoud featured club banger ‘Cash Money‘ which is listed on Apple Music’s Rap Playlist. With the project produced by none other than New Gen’s Soul, the sound was still as diverse as it was cohesive!
