Turn back the clock just over a decade ago; Singer/Model Cassie was on the rise as an R&B recording artist with numbers such as ‘Long Way 2 Go’ and ‘Me & U’. Now, in 2017, following a few singles here and there (‘King Of Hearts’) and a solid mixtape titled ‘Rock-A-Bye Baby’, the artist is back with the announcement of a new album, which is imminent apparently.
The Bad Boy signee revealed the news during a string of promotional interviews for her short film for ‘Love A Loser’ featuring G Eazy. Mid-way through her Hot 97 sit down, Cassie told Ebro and Co, that she’s been hard at work prepping the album and that she’s eager to let them hear her work before it goes live. The multifaceted act went further during her Billboard exclusive and unveiled her killer line up enlisted to ensure she reaches the apex of music again:
“I just started working with Hit-Boy… Kaytranada did four tracks. PARTYNEXTDOOR did two songs and Rob Holladay. He was the executive producer on my mixtape Rockabye Baby. So, the “More Yes” record with Jeremih, he produced that. And I also got Black Coffee.”
The currently untitled sophomore album will follow Cassie‘s self titled debut, which dropped in 2006 and will likely feature an elevated sound if the producers are anything to go by. It’ll be interesting to see if the singer can re-ignite the flame she had burning 10 years ago which allowed everything she released to chart successfully.
