Croydon Tower – skyscraper by CZWG set to be built in 2018
Architecture studio CZWG recently received the go-ahead for their latest project, a skyscraper in South London we’ve nicknamed, Croydon Tower. Led by Piers Gough, the huge building will feature 68-stories and will reach heights of 228 metres-high. With construction officially commencing in 2018, the studio are said to be creating this as part of “a major regeneration project in the south London borough“.
Actually named One Lansdowne Road, it will occupy a space at the corner of Lansdowne Road and Wellesley Road. Featuring two towers, the structure will harness a 140-metre East Tower and 228 metre West Tower, divided by a 45-metre-high podium in between them both. Inside, there is said to be plans for 794 apartments and 35,000 square metres of office, along with a public viewing gallery, elevated restaurant & bar and views over Croydon.
Planning permissions were set in September of this year and has since been signed off by London‘s current mayor Sadiq Khan. This is one of many new projects planned for the area, as they begin the early phases of their £5.25 billion overall redevelopment programme.
