Sharky releases infectious single “Cause And Effect”
“Cause and Effect” is the new single from London-based singer, Sharky, who serves up a sweet and funky debut. A flawless range and unique twang sets her apart from the rest instantly, helped along by distinctive backing from Speakman Sound. The talented duo matches her vocal performance with some truly standout production, bringing heavy old school vibes to the modern ear.
Sounding like a takeout from an early naughties Smooth Radio show, Sharky’s voice acts almost like its own instrument as her vocals slide from one syllable and word to the next. The silky result is reminiscent of music produced by growingly popular group Hiatus Kaiyote, who are probably the closest thing here in terms of super smooth execution. On the track Sharky states:
“Cause and Effect’ sums up the celebration of confidence I found in being a woman. After a particular session at Speakman Sound’s studio, I had written a few bare-bones ideas at home, which I felt desperately required some injection from Speakman Sound and Jon Moody (Franc Moody).”
“After a day in the studio, my few chords and lines became a sassy psychedelic dream accentuating my pride for who I am and what I give out and hold close”
