Melii is feeling ‘Icey’ on her new single

There’s something in the water in NYC. New femcee artists are sprouting from all over the city as of late and Melii wants in. Raised in Harlem, the lyricist first came to prominence with her rendition of Cardi B‘s Bodak Yellow which gained traction across social media platforms such as Twitter and Soundcloud. Melii‘s follow up No Simple Chick, again gained her credibility and now she seeks even more with her latest single Icey.

Packed with confidence, the New York MC is on one hundred throughout the track as she talks about her skills when it comes to the opposite sex.

“Walk in the club, pop a bottle, cop a dub // These bitches don’t like me, their baby daddy keep me icy”

2018 is shaping up to be Melii‘s breakout year as it looks like she’s signed a deal of some sort with Interscope, who are credited as part owners of the song on streaming platforms.

More widely, with Azealia Banks, Cardi B, Remy Ma and more winning in their own right, as well as newcomers like Melii on the rise, the femcee arena is in an interesting state right now.
