New Jersey Act Topaz Jones drops fresh cuts ‘Nectar’ and ‘Pleasure Pain Passion’
Topaz Jones is a breath of fresh air. The New-Jersey native has been on the rise for the last few years with an array of independent EP releases. However, his latest double drop demonstrates his effortless talents.
The first of the two cuts Nectar is a clash of funk, Hip-hop and electronic soundscapes (produced by Topaz and Jack Hallenbeck). The byproduct of this is a perfectly laced, laidback record which is leaps and bounds ahead of what currently exists in contemporary music.
Pleasure Pain Passion follows and melds a more melodic foundation into the mix. Again, Topaz is in his element, utilizing his voice more than his bars here. The passionate cut also features Kamau, which takes the record to the next level.
Hopefully, Topaz isn’t finished with the new music drops, because if this is him at the start of 2018, then the year looks amazing for his evolution as a rising artist.
