Liza Owen brings fresh energy on new single ‘Fallin’
Rising British/Cambodian singer songwriter Liza Owen hits with her first major single of the year with “Fallin“. The radio friendly hit kicks off her 2018 campaign in a big way, seeing acclaimed writers and hot-out-here production duo Afterhrs contributing their quality to the overall complete release. This record features various elements fused together, pulling heavily from R&B and US/UK Pop music. Liza Owen seems to seamlessly fit into today’s climate, although she offers something a quite unique in her aesthetic and execution.
Little nuances in Owen‘s diction makes her voice somewhat distinct, bringing to the table strong vocals which wouldn’t seem out-of-place in the official pop charts. When the song debuted, the singer explained the meaning of the lyrics to Notion Mag, detailing:
“The inspiration for ‘Fallin’ came from looking back on a relationship from a different perspective and reminiscing about it, with no bad blood but just general melancholy feelings. It made me think about how funny it is that, for a second, falling in love feels like flying, like being on top of the world and then suddenly it’s over.”
The single’s artwork is handled by popular professional photographer and director Sophie Jones.
