Nike’s Nigerian World Cup kit receives record-breaking 3 million pre-orders
Many valid sports news outlets announced late last week that Nike‘s Nigerian national team shirt has seen an estimated, 3 millions pre-orders. Arriving soon at their official webstore, the kit releases just before the friendly between England and Nigeria on June 2nd at Wembley Stadium. Most fans of the Super Eagles are hoping to grab pieces from the Nike National Team Collection, before the 2018 World Cup kicks off in Russia on June 14th.
Social media has been one major vehicle that has been a driving force for the hype around the design. Seeing people channel their excitement for its release, Nike have been bombarded with questions and tweets enquiring about the jersey’s release in particular.
The delivery will feature a travel suit, anthem jacket, training apparel, pre-game shirt, bucket hat and series of kits, created to offer lifestyle and on-pitch style/functionality. Constructed with new breathable Vapor Knit technology, both shirts were designed with performance in mind especially. The home and away kits alike, arrive with reduced weight, cooling zones and a fashionable take on the country’s national colours.
Arsenal F.C. footballer Alex Iwobi was one of the first to be seen in the kit, explaining it’s important by saying:
