Allez les Bleus: Nike immediately starts production on two-star French kits
That was quick?
Nike has already cut and printed the new French national kit after the country won the 2018 Fifa World Cup last night in Moscow. Seeing out a 4-2 victory over the Croats inside the Luzhniki Stadium, the record-breaking tournament resulted in an all-Nike final for the first time ever. Ten of the 32 teams that took part in the competition wore kits from the sportswear giant – including three of the four semi-finalists. The brand President of Consumer and Marketplace, Elliot Hill, explains:
“We had three of the four teams in the semi-finals and then two of our teams made the finals. We’ve been in the game of football for over 20 years, and it’s the first time that we’ve had an all-Nike final,”
“In addition to the kits, we’ve had great success with our players. Over 65 percent of the minutes played on-pitch were by athletes wearing Nike football boots,”
