Mick Jenkins Challenges His Peers On Comeback Single ‘Bruce Banner’ // Announces Sophomore Album

Mick Jenkins is ready for war! Following the release of his debut album ‘The Healing Component’ in 2016, the act has been relatively low-profile since. Only making appearances for features, the act is now ready to step into his own with his sophomore set. During Zane Lowe‘s Beats 1 set, the rapper revealed that the name of the LP is ‘Pieces Of A Man’, and that the set will be his most centred yet. Alongside this, Mick dropped the highly anticipated lead single titled ‘Bruce Banner’ and it’s nothing short of controversial.

The opening line of the record takes aim at the rap-game as Mick Jenkins states that he’s only worthy of Kendrick Lamar critique.

“Honestly, can’t nobody come for me except Kendrick.”

The Chi-town rapper spits. He follows up with a line about hoping everybody is offended. So far nobody has responded, but it would be interesting to see if anyone does in the near-future. Beyond the track, Mick shared that his album has a lot of “big features” during Zane Lowe‘s show, and shared that one of them is Corrine Bailey Rae.

Catch the shot-fuelled record below while we wait for the full album due this fall.
