Celine Debuts New Monogram Bag Designed by Hedi Slimane
The fashion powerhouse has teased a new monogram bag designed by Hedi Slimane on Instagram. Slimane brought back the monogram ‘C’ bag from the brand’s 1970 archives.
The Instagram post sees the square quilted bag styled with a simple gray trench coat. Its “tablet” surface makes reference to the ’80s the French luxury brand’s accessory designs. And of course, the “C” logo centers on the bags clasp in a silver finish, matching the chain strap.
Slimane has made multiple changes to the fashion house, including the removal of the accent with the logo, following his appointment. The change in logo is also said to be an homage to the archives, to the original Celine logo from the 1960s.
The reveal of the brand’s new logo on September 2 came shortly after Slimane unveiled his first handbag for Celine, as seen recently on the arm of the designer’s huge supporter and friend, Lady Gaga.
The new ‘C’ monogram bag will be available to purchase in November 2018.
