Colin Kaepernick released the extended version of his new Nike commercial that shares inspirational stories narrated by the inspiring yet controversial figure.
He is seen juxtaposed against an image of the American flag in the ad, while reiterating the tagline revealed earlier this week, “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”.
The former 49er quarterback/social activist describes the different journeys of athletes with various clips.
Some of whom are big names like LeBron James, Serena Williams, Nyjah Huston, Shaquem Griffin, and Alphonso Davies. Others are several lesser-known athletes competing at their own levels.
“What non-believers fail to understand is that calling a dream crazy is not an insult, it’s a compliment,” says Kaepernick.
Kaep also highlights younger athletes who’ve managed to overcome challenging obstacles through the devotion to their respective sports.
The clip concludes with Kaepernick’s words, “Don’t ask if your dreams are crazy, ask if they’re crazy enough.”
