David Beckham unveils new MLS Football Team “Internacional de Fútbol Miami”
A new team will soon be entering America’s top flight of football, as David Beckham (owner) prepares to add “Internacional de Fútbol Miami” to the MLS.
Based in South Florida, the club has already been nicknamed “Inter Miami CF“, given it’s South American-influenced name in efforts to better represent the city’s population. The team’s managing owner, Jorge Mas, describes the inspiration behind the name and badge:
“Our city and our fans draw their strength from the dreams of a global population that calls Miami home. It is only fitting that our name pays tribute to the inclusiveness that makes us who we are.”
Meanwhile, the ex-Manchester United & Real Madrid player and President of Football Operations, David Beckham, added the following:
“We are taking another important step in establishing our club and today marks an important moment in the history of Club Internacional de Futbol Miami.”
