Drake talks retirement, Pusha T response, life as a father & much more w/ Lebron James & Maverick Carter
The multifaceted talk show also features LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Ben Simmons and many others. The first two people are the ones who Drake revealed the details surrounding each aforementioned story. Explaining the situation from his point of view for the first time, he talks about the manipulation from Kanye.
The global star also tells his contemporaries that he said “terrible things” in his confirmed response to Pusha T, which never came out due to Drake feeling it had moved past the rules of rap beef. Explaining that the lines about his best friend and producer Noah ’40’ Shebib sent him over the edge, the Canadian detailed:
“…wishing death upon my friend [producer Noah “40” Shebib] who has MS… I study rap battles for a living. When you mention defenseless people who are sick in the hospital, who have passed away, I just believe that there’s a price you have to pay for that.”
“It’s over! Someone’s gonna fucking punch you in the fucking face. The shit’s done, the event’s over. I wanted to do other things. I didn’t want to further your career by rapping back to you and having this exchange.”
Drake also alluded to the fact that Pusha‘s diss records contained information that he had told Kanye West no too long beforehand. He even says that originally Kanye‘s “Lift Yourself” was given to him, which he wrote to and completed on a trip with 40 to Wyoming. During that trip, Drake also told Ye private info on his at-the-time secret son, baby mother issues and album plans.
