Kanye West Confronted by Lana Del Rey, Swizz Beatz and Others Over his Support of Trump
Over the weekend, Kanye West appeared on SNL wearing a Trump MAGA cap. Whilst many expected Ye to share details on the promised “Yandi” project, they instead were met with a live and evidently unscripted on-air speech.
The rapper addressed such issues as race, equality, freedom and president Trump. In the hours afterwards Kanye also posted a picture to Twitter of himself wearing the hat. Along with the image, a pro-Trump policy message.
Among the 25,000 responses were messages from Lana Del Rey and Swizz Beatz.
Lana responded to Ye. “Trump becoming our president was a loss for our country but your support of him is a loss for the culture. I can only assume you relate to his personality on some level. Delusions of Grandeur, extreme issues with narcissism — none of which would be a talking point if we weren’t speaking about the man leading our country. If you think it’s alright to support someone who believes it’s OK to grab a woman by the pussy just because he’s famous — then you need an intervention as much as he does…Message sent with concern that will never be addressed.”
In addition to Lana, artist Swizz Beatz showed his disapproval of West’s choices.
“I just seen that SNL, Kanye and I hear you talking about being bullied for the hat…I was just addressing how uncomfortable the culture feels with you representing somebody who’s blatantly hurting our people.”
