Solange To Drop New Album In Coming Weeks
In an interview conducted with T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Solange detailed her next album is arriving – “probably sometime soon“.
Without locking in a specific date, the talented singer says that “…the album’s release is imminent this fall“. Serving as the follow up to her highly acclaimed 2016 LP, “A Seat At The Table“, the respected songwriter gave little official details but lended some insight into what we can expect.
TNYTSM article author, Ayana Mathis, writes the following:
“Many of the songs on “A Seat at the Table” were 15 minutes long until the final stages of production, when, with surgical decisiveness, Solange cut them down to three or four. She’ll do the same as she completes this yet unnamed album. The record will be warm, she says, fluid and more sensual than her last one. “
Touching on the style of the project, Solange explains that it’s heavily jazz based, but also pulls from elements of hip-hop, D&B and electronic music. Recording locations are said to have included New Orleans, Jamaica, and California’s Topanga Canyon. Above is a mini-doc involving how she made her last release.
