Virgil Abloh debuts SS19 Collection for Louis Vuitton via London pop-up
Marking his debut collection as Artistic Menswear Director of Louis Vuitton, highly-popular designer Virgil Abloh recently conducted a pop-up event for the brand’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
Located in Mayfair, London. the display featured this seasons range within a 2000 sq ft retail experience. Based around a “The Wizard of Oz” theme, the spot apparently hosted high-profile guests such as Idris Elba, Rita Ora, and Frank Ocean on opening night.
Staying true to the story, people were directed up a “Yellow Brick Road” staircase towards a luminous display. Making use of light prisms and multicolor tones, the pop-up transported viewers into the world of Louis Vuitton.
Dorothy features at the end of a red brick road, surrounded by poppies and wild flora. Visitors could actually purchase some exclusive pieces there and then, as they were surrounded by vibrant surroundings. Jackets, bags, accessories and more were evidently on display.
Beating others to the punch, the pop-up is now open by appointment and bookings made through ticketing.louisvuitton.com – standing until October 25th.
