H.E.R. is selected as Apple Music’s ‘Up Next’ artist

Apple Music announces acclaimed R&B singer H.E.R. as their “Up Next” artist, identifying the talent as a breakthrough musician.

The MBK Entertainment/RCA Records artist joins her peers and frequent collaborators like Daniel Caesar, Khalid, and 6lack as the streaming company’s latest championed act. An impressive string of projects has put H.E.R.’s name in the upper echelon of this generation’s musicians, hailed for bringing back a more traditional form of the sound.

In addition, the multi-instrumentalist ranks as the #6 best-streamed R&B artist worldwide across Apple Music platforms. Evidently a mainstay across their “The A-List: R&B playlist since September 2016, the 21-year-old has also contributed to a significant increase in attention/streams in the genre.

Taken from her latest EP, “I Used To Know Her: Part 2“, the soulful singer gives Apple Music a live performance of “Fate“. Using the song to close out the veridical film, H.E.R. details her past, the current state of music, the streaming world, viral content and more. The short film also includes interviews with Wilson‘s former roommates, managers, producers.

The “Up Next” short film debuted as an exclusive screening at her London-based launch event yesterday. Check out the film here via Apple Music and be sure to explore more new music and related news below.
