Pharrell Walks in Chanel’s 2018 Métiers d’Art Show
Pharrell Williams made a surprise appearance on the runway of Chanel‘s Métier d’Arts show in New York last night. Donning a pair of metallic trousers and boots with a knitted tunic and giant neckpiece, Williams took to the catwalk. The frequent Chanel collaborator complemented the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Egyptian Temple of Dendur venue.
Golden decadence was the key theme at the 17th iteration of Karl Lagerfeld’s travelling show. Many looks incorporate lavish, extravagant shades on either clothing or accessories. Garments take inspiration from traditional Egyptian wares. The fashion house re-imagines ancient styles like tunics and shendyts, and re-conceptualised them for the contemporary market.
Although, this isn’t the only time William’s has teamed up with Karl Lagerfeld recently. In October, the artist announced he has another Chanel collaboration on the way. As of yet, what form that will take remains to be seen.
