Hulu & Marvel to combine and create adult animated-superhero series
Variety details that Marvel and Hulu will be collaborating on a handful adult animated-superhero series together.
This package deal will include shows for characters like Howard the Duck (pictured above), M.O.D.O.K, Hit-Monkey, and Tigra & Dazzler. All exclusive to the streaming service, the format arrives in a similar manner to the canceled Netflix four-show universe – eventually, building towards a joint special called The Offenders.
Information on the team behind each series is provided below via Variety:
“Howard the Duck will be written and executive produced by Kevin Smith and Dave Willis. M.O.D.O.K. will be lead by comedian Patton Oswalt and Community writer Jordan Blum. Hit-Monkey will come from Blades of Glory directing team Josh Gordon and Will Speck. Tigra and Dazzler are being handled by Girls Trip’s Erica Rivinoja and Chelsea Handler.”
“All four series will be executive produced by Marvel’s head of TV, Jeph Loeb.”
This news interestingly follows the controversial axing of Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist. As Marvel moves away from Netflix and begins to explore deals with other video streaming services, let us know which ones you’re looking forward to in the comment section below.
