Krept & Konan deliver an important message with short film “Ban Drill” – directed by Rapman

Subtly teasing the film on social media with cryptic posts, especially on Instagram, Krept and Konan now release their short film “Ban Drill” featuring many familiar faces from the UK rap and drill scene.

Directed by Rapman, the film emulates a familiar feeling the man himself so often brings to his work. The likes of Headie OneRVDig DatD Block Europe, ScribzUnknown T and many others appear throughout.

In attempts to stop the silencing of drill artists, where many successful videos have been removed from YouTube due to content or other situations, Play Dirty aims to teach people the ways that these actions can have negative impacts on the musician’s lives.

It may serve as a singular storyline, but it’s one that can commonly occur and is maybe representative of individuals who’ve had the opportunity to make positive change taken from them. The debate will rage on between the fans of drill music, the creators of it and the authorities, but now’s the time for some of the scene’s most popular frontmen to weigh in.

Largely starring Gerome Miller as the lead and Malcolm Kamulete, known for his role as Ra’Nell on Top Boy, watch the film above now and be sure to comment your thoughts below.
