Music Video Monday – 026

A new week means an all-new edition of Music Video Monday here at L Ø S T CULTURE. It’s a time where we like to give recognition to the talent behind the lens as well as the talent in front. Let’s see what outstanding projects have been released over the past 7+ days.

Last week we had a strong entry from the ladies, however, this week the boys are getting points on the board. Ed Sheeran brings in an all-star cast for his “Take Me Back To London” remix, which features Stormzy, Jaykae and an altered instrumental from Sir Spyro. Manchester-based rapper Aitch and director KC Locke appear on the MVM list more and more as their hometowns stamp on the capital increases.

Giggs calls on a familiar name in Myles Whittingham (who directs almost all of the rapper’s visuals) for his latest collab with Swizz Beats. Well-known videographer Jay Papworth handles Dappy‘s exotic visuals for “PANTHA“,  while Idris Elba recruits Chip and Toddla T for “Yard” taken from his directorial debut film.

Ms. Banks and Geko keep the MCR-LDN connection strong with a vibrant video from Wowa, whereas Arin Ray and Kehlani combine for the warm visuals to “Change“. Music icon and hip-hop legend Missy Elliot breaks her short hiatus with “Throw It Back“, directed by renowned creative Daniel Russell and Lil Tjay collaborates with director David Wept to create the moving and powerful video for “F.N“.

Last but not least we have an intercontinental link up as Ashanti and Afro B combine for “Pretty Look Girls“, shot in tropical settings by Elf Rivera.
